Besides my work, I spend a lot of time riding my racing bike, playing tennis and regularly meeting friends for drinks at a favorite terrace café or pub. I like to eat in good restaurants, but I also like cooking at home, especially Asian food. I love Bao Buns, Dumplings, Curry and Pho. Asian food has it all: sweet, sour, salt, spicy – but especially flavor. Travel is another great hobby of mine, and I spent 7 months traveling in Asia & Australia before I came to work at ValueBlue. I’m not a great person for quotes, but I like to take things easy and I never get too stressed out. So I’d say my motto is: “Enjoy life. There’s plenty of time to be dead”
Lots of opportunities to challenge and develop myself
I studied Accountancy & Control at the University of Groningen. After a fun time as a student, at the end of my Masters I moved to Amsterdam to finish my thesis. Quite soon after that, I got a job at Grapedistrict, which is a chain of wine shops that sells honest wines. There I was responsible for the finances from A to Z. After two-and-a-half years, I switched over to secondment so that I could learn about companies from the inside. After 5 different jobs, my final assignment was at ValueBlue. I liked it so much here that I applied for a permanent job.
